While it may seem like I have dropped the ball on my editing website for the past six months to a year, I have been working harder than ever behind the scenes. Professionally, I’ve been working my regular proofreading job during the day and in my down time, I have edited/proofread six books that have gone to publication or will go to publication in 2026. Personally, my stepmother of 26 years passed away in December 2025 after a long health battle. I’ve been helping my father and a few family members throughout the grief process during the remainder of my free time. As many know, grief is not a straight line; it has its mountains and valleys and each present their own issues. Sharon, my stepmother, was an avid reader who pushed others to expand their imaginations by reading more. There were never enough books on her Kindle or in her life otherwise.
I am taking time to rediscover my love of reading for reading itself. While I am working on reviews for the books I am reading/have read, I am not holding myself to a strict schedule of reviewing a certain number of books per month. The number of books I was editing/proofreading/reviewing was overwhelming at times, especially during moments of family need or other moments of stress. Over the next month, you will see changes on this and its companion site, For the Amor of Language. Please bear with me as I work through these changes and start publishing blogs in a regular manner once again.
